Secure Trust Bank Group (STBG), a leading UK specialist bank, is offering all of its 1,000 employees the opportunity to take one paid hour off from their working day every month to focus on wellbeing.
Wellbeing Hour was initially created during Stress Awareness Month in April as a one-off initiative. Due to how well it was received and colleague feedback, the business has now introduced it on a monthly basis.
Anne McKenning, HR Director at Secure Trust Bank Group, comments:
"Colleague wellbeing is a key priority for us, and we have a wellbeing strategy in place to make sure we're supporting employees in all aspects of their wellbeing.
"The Group's Wellbeing Hour really demonstrates that we are taking positive action in this important area. It was launched in response to employee feedback which told us that some colleagues struggle to find the time to access the many wellbeing resources we have made available to support colleagues.
"We're proud to be able to offer this benefit to everyone who works here. Employees can use it to attend a wellbeing event, look at the many wellbeing resources we offer, or even do something non-work related that will have a positive effect on their wellbeing."
STBG places significant focus on colleague wellbeing with a number of initiatives in place to support mental health such as workplace Mental Health First Aiders, weekly Wellbeing Cafes, free employee assistance telephone lines, and regular support of national wellbeing campaigns.
STBG is ranked 23rd in the Large category as a UK Best Workplace, ranked 16th as a UK Best Workplace for Women and hold an Excellence in Wellbeing award, as granted by Great Places to Work.
